Chinese Government to Put 3D Printers in All 400,000 Elementary Schools by Next Year

OUTSOURCE AUTOCAD SERVICESAre you ready to learn more about the latest advancements in 3D printing? If so, you’ve come to the right place! We are here to talk more about the various countries that are implementing this type of printing!

Just as we reported on the fact that not all countries in the world are taking advantage of 3D printing and all its benefits, we bring to you a story that highlights one out of China. The Chinese government plans to put 3D printers in their elementary schools by the end of 2016.

What’s more, the country is actually going to place the printers in all of their elementary schools, all over the China. That means 400,000 machines will be implemented into the school system by 2017.

It’s no secret that education is important. Using the latest technology to teach is great as well. While the idea that China will put these printers into each of their 400,000 schools in a year’s time sounds amazing, it’s also a bit troublesome.

These machines cost between $400 and $4,000 each, depending on their size, capabilities and more. This is just for standard desktop 3D printers. Most school systems have budgets to adhere to, no matter what country they’re in. And, just as here in the United States, those budgets are running dry. Most schools won’t be able to afford them. Even if they could afford the machines, they’d still have to account for money to train teachers to use them, in addition to the materials it takes to run the machines.

According to campustechnology.com, “Parents who want to give their kids educational support in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) subjects are investing in 3D printers. The student may be enrolled in a secondary or postsecondary school, taking subjects ranging from architecture to creative arts to mechanical engineering. Students will use the 3D printer to complete school projects, much like their parents used plaster of Paris, balsa wood and other materials in their school days.”

This is just one of the ever-evolving projects that involve 3D printing. We hope you enjoy reading these advancements, as we enjoy bringing them to you.
